Directions and Grading Policy
AP Lang 2019-2020
Welcome to our Blogspot!
We will use this blog as a tool to interact with and discuss literature beyond the classroom, a discourse that will hopefully fuel our discussion IN the classroom.
Directions:
1. I will post one discussion question on Sunday.
2. You will thoughtfully post a response to this question using examples from the text we are currently reading, your own life, and making connections to other literature you have read. This response is due Wednesday.
3. By Friday of that week you will thoughtfully respond to one or more of your classmates posts. You may agree or disagree using evidence to support your ideas, or add on to classmates analysis (25% of homework grade).
Grading Policy
100- Thoughtful, articulate response with specific examples from the text to support analysis, as well as other supporting examples (personal, current events, textual connections, pop culture) with a "so what?" a connection to the deeper meaning of life/society/human nature. Clearly shows your writing voice.
95- Thoughtful, articulate response with specific examples from the text to support analysis, as well as other supporting examples (personal, current events, textual connections, pop culture). Clearly shows your writing voice.
85- Thoughtful, articulate response with specific examples from the text to support analysis. Seems rushed, or overly short. Doesn’t seem unique to you, or your voice.
75- Rushed, simplistic response with little or no analysis or specific examples. Doesn’t seem unique to you, or your voice.
**LATE responses will not receive credit. If you miss the Wednesday deadline you may still participate in the discussion by responding to a classmate for 25% credit of the weekly response.
See me if you do not have internet access, you may use my computer before school/after school /at lunch or I will write you a library pass!
